Daily Covid cases this week averaged about 94,000, down from 106,000 last week. Daily deaths averaged 1421, down from 1554. Daily hospital admissions with Covid declined from 8,182 to 7,147. When it comes to vaccinations, we're seeing between 5 and 6 million shots a week, with a little less than 2 million of those being people getting their first shot.
Things are moving in the right direction. Over the next couple months, the big question will be whether there will be a winter spike, which is common with coronaviruses, or whether the immunity the country has built up through vaccinations and infections will be enough to keep that from happening.
