Today, the United States reported 39,452 new cases of the novel coronavirus, up a bit from 38,234 a week ago (Covid Tracking Project). If you follow the seven-day rolling average, it's stayed within one thousand of 42,000 for the last eight days, drifting down a little bit and fairly slowly.
We reported 475 new deaths, down from 572 a week ago, and the seven-day rolling average continues to go down as it has steadily for the past two weeks.
