Today, the United States reported 44,264 cases of the novel coronavirus, up from 43740 (Covid Tracking Project). We haven't had one of these "up" days in a while -- before today we had eleven straight "down" days. If you look at the seven-day rolling average graph, you'll see there's been a little flattening out the last few days. We'll have to wait and see whether that's bad news, or whether it's just one of those little blips that happens in any complicated data-gathering situation like this.
We reported 1129 deaths today, down (barely, but still!) from the 1134 reported a week ago. So that's eleven "down" days for deaths in a row.
The usual graphs are attached.
