Today, the United States reported 36,679 new cases of the novel coronavirus, down from 40,458 a week ago (Covid Tracking Project).
We reported 1147 deaths, down from 1195 a week ago. If you follow the seven-day rolling average of deaths, that number has gone down nine days in a row.
