Today, the United States reported 45,103 new cases of the novel coronavirus, down from 55,742 a week ago (Covid Tracking Project). The curve has turned sharply downward again the last few days.

We reported 1416 deaths, down from 1485 a week ago. If you smooth out the day-to-day jumps of ups and downs by taking the seven-day rolling average, we're now at 24 days in a row with that average staying between 1000 and 1200 deaths.

The usual graphs are attached.
