The United States reported 58,836 new cases of the novel coronavirus, up from 53,684 a week ago (Covid Tracking Project). In the last seven days, we've had 372,748 diagnoses in the last seven days, making this the most cases ever diagnosed in seven days.

We reported 867 deaths today, up from 644 a week ago. It's three days in a row now that the seven-day average has gone up. I'm still not sure how much of a big deal three up-days is, but at this point we can't honestly say, "Cases keep going up, but deaths keep going down."

The usual graphs are attached.
