The United States reported 62,197 new cases of the novel coronavirus today, which is the highest number we've seen yet, and up from 52,982 a week ago (Covid Tracking Project).

The US reported 889 deaths today, up from 701 a week ago. That's two days in a row up from the week before. That's not a trend yet, but time will tell.

A doctor I know, who works at an undisclosed location out West, is seeing a big spike in cases and his hospital -- and with a lot more young patients than before.
