Today, the United States reported 57,562 new cases of the novel coronavirus, up from 44,373 a week ago (Covid Tracking Project). Today's number is the highest number of cases ever reported in one day.
Today, the United States reported 661 deaths, up from 576 a week ago. We're about two to three weeks from the point where the number of new cases started their rapid rise, so it would make sense if we're now at the point where deaths start rising. Time will tell.
