Today, the United States reported 75,193 new cases of the novel coronavirus, down a bit from the 77,233 reported a week ago (Covid Tracking Project). This is now seven days in a row that we haven't broken the record of 77,233 set a week ago, so that's good. It's not as good as a steady and sustained drop in cases, but the plateau we seem to be having is a lot better than seeing the figures going up every day.
Another bit of bright news is that today we reported 929,838 tests, the most ever reported in a day.
However, deaths are still climbing. We reported 1178 deaths today, up from 951 a week ago.
The usual graphs are attached.
