Today, the United States reported 644 deaths linked to the novel coronavirus, down from 2561 a week ago (Covid Tracking Project). Now, a week ago today was a weird reporting day, because New Jersey reported something like 1800 deaths that didn't actually all happen that day, but had actually occurred spread across many days. Nevertheless, deaths still seem to be on their downward trend.

On the other hand, we reported 52,815 new cases today, up from 41,939 cases a week ago.

Deaths keep going down; cases keep going up. We'll have to keep watching to see how it plays out.
