Today, the United States reported 63,007 cases of the novel coronavirus, up from 52,406 a week ago (Covid Tracking Project). The last seven days have seen 392,526 new diagnoses, the most reported in any seven-day period.

Today we reported 757 deaths, up from 306 a week ago. The rolling seven-day average of deaths has now risen five days in a row. This rise in deaths started almost exactly four weeks after the rise in cases. If that pattern holds up, and deaths are on a four-week delay from cases, then we would expect deaths to continue rising until four weeks after cases stop rising.

My own county, Clermont, is now under a mask mandate as of yesterday. The usual graphs are attached.
