Today, the United States reported 44,737 cases of the novel coronavirus, a new record (Covid Tracking Project). This is a new record, up from the record of 41,939 yesterday, and up from 31,010 a week ago.
We reported 619 deaths, down a shade from the 650 reported a week ago.
Texas has shut down its bars and reduced capacity in restaurants.
