This was originally a Facebook post of mine from 2020-6-24, and is archived here as a curiosity. Minor changes to formatting, as well as basic copy-edits, may have been made in the transition from Facebook post to web format.
The United States reported 38,672 new cases of the novel coronavirus today, which is the largest number reported on any day, ever, and up from 25,609 a week ago (Covid Tracking Project).
Deaths do not appear to be climbing yet, though I guess you could squint at the graph and say maybe they're leveling off. Time will tell.
