ʔBH [1] (ʔava). A verb, meaning to be willing, to consent. It has cognates in Assyrian, Ethiopic, and Arabic. This entry contains every use of the verb in the Bible.
This verb appears in Qal only. It is used with loʔ, appearing with ʔal only in Is 1:19 Jb 39:9; in the Hexateuch it is rare and found only in JED, including Lv 26:21. Comments
As organized in Brown-Driver briggs, this verbal stem only appears in Qal, but there are two nouns and an adjective which come under the same heading: ʔbywn (evyon, in want, needy, poor), ʔbywnh (aviyona, capter-berry), and ʔbh (eve, reed, papyrus). In this project, these will each have their own entries.
