Shin is a letter of the Hebrew alphabet. In its most common form, which in vowelled text received a dot over its right 'arm', it is pronounced as the sh in shampoo. In its less common form, sin, with a dot over the left 'arm', it is pronounced as the s in silence.

In the Hebrew alphabet, it comes after resh and before tav.
