A mappiq, in Hebrew, is a small dot, placed inside a he at the end of a word, to indicate that the he does not function as a mater lectionis, but must instead be pronounced in its full consonantal manner -- that is, like the h in 'horse'.

It looks similar to, but should not be confused with, a dagesh or the dot of shuruq.
