(BA) Halakha
...

July 2022 - 10 September 2022

The halakha is a term for what is also known as "Jewish law", the set of practices that Orthodox Judaism continues to adhere to. Important sources of halakha include the Hebrew Bible, Mishnah, and the Shulchan Aruch.

It is a very complex field, which continues to be explored by both academics and Orthodox Jewish authorities to the present day. For our purposes, it is important to note that, for those interested in reconstructing the meanings of biblical passages, the positions found in halakha are often a much later historical development.
