1 Now humankind began to multiply on the face of the ground, and daughters were born to them. 2 And the sons of God saw the daughters of humankind, that they were beautiful, and they took themselves wives of all whom they chose.

3 And Yahweh said, My spirit will not ydwn in humankind forever, beshaggam they are flesh. And their days will be one hundred twenty years.

4 The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God would go in to the daughters of humankind, and they bore children to them. These were the ancient warriors, men of renown.

5 And Yahweh saw that human evil had multiplied on the earth, that every thought in their mind was only evil all day. 6 And Yahweh regretted that he made humankind on the earth, and it brought pain to his heart. 7 And Yahweh said, I will blot out humankind that I have created from upon the face of the ground, from humans, to livestock, to crawling things, and to birds of the sky, because I regret that I made them. 8 And Noah found favor in the eyes of Yahweh.

9 These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man. He was blameless amidst his contemporaries. Noah walked with God. 10 And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. 11 And the earth was ruined before God, and the earth was filled with cruelty. 12 And God saw the earth, and behold, it was ruined, because all flesh had ruined their way on the earth.

13 And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before me, because the earth is filled with cruelty by them, and behold, I am about to make ruins of them with the earth. 14 Make yourself an ark of gopher wood. Nests you shall make the ark, and you shall cover it with pitch inside and out. 15 And this is how you shall make it: three hundred cubits the length of the ark, and fifty cubits its width, and thirty cubits its height. 16 A tsohar you shall make for the ark, and to a cubit you shall finish it from above. And you shall place an entrance to the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third [stories]. 17 And I, indeed, I, will bring the deluge, water upon the earth, to make a ruin of all flesh containing the breath of life under the sky. All that is on the earth will expire. 18 And I will establish my covenant with you, and you will come into the ark: you, and your sons, and your wife, and your sons' wives with you. 19 And of all living things, of all flesh, two of each you will bring to the ark to keep alive with you; male and female they will be. 20 Of the various kinds of birds, and of the various kinds of livestock, of all the various kinds of crawling things of the earth, two of them all you will bring to you to keep alive. 21 And you will take for yourself of all foods that are eaten, and gather for yourself, and it will be food for you and them. 22 And Noah did [so]: exactly as God commanded him, thus he did.
