Where the Masoretic Text reads "good", the Samaritan Pentateuch has very good.
Genesis 2:12 speaks of bedolah and shoham stone. The references to shoham stone show that it was a precious stone associated with the cultus, but do not give enough information for identification. Onyx has been suggested, and the margin to the ASV suggests perhaps "beryl".
Bedolah is only mentioned here and in Numbers 11:7, where the manna is described as looking like bedolah. Exodus 16:31 describes the manna as white. If both passages are making an equivalent statement, then bedolah it would be something white, but no further description is possible.
